escape 48 Calgary & banff

Check out @lovinglittlesblog’s 48 hour escape in Calgary and Banff

flying with flair

Our first family flight went off amazingly well with literally no complaints. We loved being able to check in early with no fussing at the airport. Our kids did an amazing job on the flights with colouring books and headphones they were content. Our flights left on-time and we all arrived there and back with a huge smile on our faces. Flair Airlines made this trip for our family a breeze!

trip tip

Other places to visit in Calgary with littles are the Calgary Zoo & TELUS Spark!

Calgary Hotel Radisson & Scotsman Hill

We checked out Scotsman Hill for the views and then made our way to the warm Hot Tub and pool at our hotel to unwind at the Radisson Calgary. Located two minutes from the Calgary Airport. Perfect for the early morning flights back home!

trip tip

You can rent Ice Skates in Winter and also Canoes in Summer!

Lake Louise

Of course, you have to take time to visit Lake Louise. One stop that literally can take you back in history, with the views and Fairmont Hotel located right in front. The lake at the time we visited was not frozen but we still enjoyed the snowy views!

Bow Falls, Twin Jack Lake & Lake Minnewanka

To get the little ones out to stretch those legs we stopped at a few quick and scenic spots. These three spots were very close to town and easy to get to. The views at all of them were worth every minute we absorbed. Especially with a little snow fall!

trip tip

Bring your camera – Tunnel Mountain is a great photo spot!

Tunnel Mountain

This is a quick but very scenic route you don’t want to miss out on. We happened to find it while touring around and stopped at every lookout! The kids happily slept through it while Drew and I could relax and enjoy it!

trip tip

Don’t miss the skywalk – a board walk that leads you around to the very top!

Banff Gondola | Pursuit Life Collection

One of our very first stops was visiting the Banff Gondola. It was exciting fun for the kids. The 8 minute ride up was just enough time to get them even more excited. We walked through everything and enjoyed the views from the balcony which had an outdoor fireplace and warming igloo.

trip tip

Get the soup or the burgers! Our favourites there!!

Sky Bistro | Banff Gondola

When you reach the top of the Banff Gondola and you’re feeling like you could use a bite to eat, Sky Bistro had the best lunch menu and a kid’s menu as well! The views and service were spectacular!
